Today we thought about lots of names for the fish. We narrowed it down to 3 names per fish and had a vote to find the most popular names...

'The fish' are now called Ruby, Goldie, Josh, Toby and Mr Skinny Legs.....!!!

Topic - Houses and Homes

Today we started our new topic 'Houses and Homes'. We thought of some questions that we would like to find out about during the topic. All of our questions are on our question wall. Some of our questions are...

Today we decided to turn our role play area in to an estate agents and we thought about the things we would need in it. We also decided to have a construction site outside and wrote down what we would need...

I think you will all be very excited when you come in to the garden in the morning!

WE DID IT!

Last term we worked really hard to earn 30 fish. To get a fish we had to do something kind, or be polite without being prompted! We have got very good at holding doors open, saying please and thank-you, looking after people, sharing our things and compromising without adult! 

We now have 5 fish in our tank! We have to feed them special fish food (which doesn't smell very nice) and keep the tank nice and clean. We also must not touch the glass as this will scare the fish. Tomorrow we are going to be thinking of some names for them so watch this space...

Topic

This term we are learning all about 'Houses and Homes'. On Monday afternoon we will have our topic workshop where we think about what we already know and decide what we want to learn about during the term.

We will be thinking about our own homes too so if you have a picture of your house that you would like to bring in for Tuesday then that would be great! 

Also, any boxes you might have at home - dishwasher tablets, child shoe boxes, cereal boxes etc - would be greatly appreciated! 

Numeracy

In Numeracy we will be looking at numbers up to 100 and seeing how they all fit on a hundred square to see if we can spot any patterns. We will be using numberlines to compare numbers and will begin to look at finding numbers that are 1 more and less than a number and 10 more and less than a number.

Remember we also now have IXL and there are lots of activities to play on there!

Literacy

In Literacy this week we are going to be looking at Poetry. Our poems last term were really good so I am expecting great things!

We will be linking our Science learning into our Literacy as we are going to focus our poetry on the 5 senses. See if you can find out what these are before you come back to school! I will be giving out house points for those who have done their research!
